Associate Technical Lead
Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan
Full Time
Manager/Supervisor
Codup is scaling up. As we expand our portfolio of complex digital commerce and B2B solutions, we’re looking for a talented and insightful Associate Technical Lead to help guide and grow our engineering teams.
If you’re passionate about building robust software at scale, mentoring engineers, and driving high-quality technical delivery across multiple concurrent projects — this role is for you.
🚀 What You’ll Do
✅ Lead engineering teams (dozens of developers across squads specializing in WordPress, Shopify and custom solutions), ensuring adherence to technical direction and ensuring best practices across projects.
✅ Help engineers follow architectural decisions and establish coding standards, driving long-term maintainability and performance.
✅ Conduct trainings and mentor engineers of all levels — running code reviews, sharing knowledge, and helping engineers follow growth paths to develop technical talent.
✅ Collaborate closely with project managers, BAs, designers, QA and stakeholders to ensure requirements are technically sound and projects stay on track.
✅ Contribute hands-on on challenging projects to unblock teams, build critical modules, or prototype complex solutions.
✅ Contribute to robust integration architectures, especially around B2B commerce (ERPs, CRMs, logistics, headless setups, Shopify, WordPress and custom solutions).
✅ Establish and enforce DevOps, CI/CD and QA processes, ensuring consistent, high-quality deliveries.
🛠 What We’re Building
✔ 6+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 2+ years in a technical leadership capacity (leading multiple teams or large squads).
✔ Deep expertise in modern JavaScript ecosystems (React, Node.js, Laravel, REST, GraphQL, TypeScript) and scalable API-first architectures.
✔ Strong architectural instincts: you know when to pick monolith vs microservices, headless vs monolithic commerce, serverless vs containerized.
✔ Passion for engineering quality — you advocate for automated testing, linting, documentation, and rock-solid CI/CD.
✔ Excellent mentorship skills: you love developing people, sharing your experience, and lifting up juniors and mid-level engineers.
✔ Sharp communication skills, equally comfortable explaining solutions to developers, PMs, or clients.
✔ Experience with complex integrations (ERPs, CRMs, logistics) and high-volume transaction systems is a big plus.
✔ Eagerness to learn new technologies and soft skills to grow as a leader in the engineering industry.
✨ Nice to Haves
💡 Familiarity with Shopify Plus & B2B commerce implementations.
💡 Background in performance-heavy systems, Rust, or serverless.
💡 A curiosity for evolving commerce stacks like Hydrogen & Gadget.
